Mohair Slim recently gave me a whole bunch of UK issue reggae 45's he came into to sell on EBAY. I think this one is my favourite of the bunch! It's basically "Tonight" by Keith and Tex with some Augustus Pablo melodica dubbed over the top and a bunch of breathy references to the popular German soft porn film Bedroom Mazurka. I love the way reggae records will just bung in current pop cultural references over an actual song...

FATTI FRANCES - SWEATY EP (2012)

This tape be like popcorn yo, i just keep taking it out of the deck and flipping it over and going for one more pop! If you haven't seen Fatti Frances, you playin' yourself. She puts on a killer show with just her and a bunch of keyboards and beat machines and a smoke machine and a some motherfuck lasers shooting right into your eye. It's infinitely more exciting than just about anything else you see down the pub. She also has a killer unreleased full length album that you can't hear yet unless you know her and and ask real nice, but in the meantime dig this EP of low-fi r'n'b rave paranoia she just put out on cassette / cd / digital...
